Over the past three years, I've built and launched rockets, learned from every flight, and competed in The American Rocketry Challenge (ARC) β the worldβs largest student rocketry competition.
Hereβs a look at my journey from TARC 2023 to becoming a National Finalist in 2025 β and now, a mentor supporting other student teams across the Bay Area
My journey began in 2023 as a first-year TARC competitor. I learned the fundamentals of rocketry, team collaboration, flight stability, and design iteration. Every mistake became a valuable lesson, and every successful flight built confidence.
With more experience and a stronger understanding of safety and simulation tools like OpenRocket, I focused on refining build techniques and performance optimization. We pushed for better results and grew our capabilities as a team.
In 2025, my team qualified to compete in the National Finals of the 23rd Annual American Rocketry Challenge (ARC) β an incredible milestone after years of dedication and growth. Preparing for Nationals taught me not just about rockets, but about leadership, project management, and perseverance.
After three years of competing, Iβve shifted my focus to mentoring other student rocketry teams β especially those preparing for ARC.
I now volunteer as a technical advisor and coach, helping teams understand the challenge, improve safety practices, and gain confidence in their own designs.
